This fall, Dr. Joshua Busby, Professor at the LBJ School of Public Affairs, co-authored two articles on clean technology. The first, published in War on the Rocks, offers commentary of “China, Clean Technologies, and National Security.” The article highlights clean technology as an importance domestic growth sector, discusses its impact on global markets and national security, and explores how the U.S. should strategically address China’s advantages in the field. The second, titled “Can the U.S. and China Ease Tensions with a Clean Tech Détente?” and published in Carnegie’s Emissary, suggests that clean technology could provide an area for U.S.-China cooperation. It examines how such a détente could mitigate the negative effects of trade disputes, benefit both economies, and promote global access to clean technologies.
