What Does Taiwan Really Need from the Next US President?

On Monday, September 16th, the UT Center for Taiwan Studies, in partnership with the Center for East Asian Studies and the Clements-Strauss Asia Policy Program, will host Shelley Rigger, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty at Davidson College, for a talk on “What Does Taiwan Really Need from the Next US President?”. The event will take place in BAT 5.108 at 12:00 PM. A reception will be held after the event from 1:30 – 3:00 PM.


Shelley Rigger is the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty at  Davidson College. She teaches courses on East Asian Politics, including domestic politics of East Asian countries and the international relations of the region. Her research and writing focus on Taiwanese politics and on the relationships among the United States, the People’s Republic of China, and Taiwan.
