Jeremy Friedman

Jeremy Friedman is a professor at the School of Civic Leadership at the University of Texas at Austin and a faculty affiliate at the Clements Center for National Security. Previously, he was an Associate Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School, and before that Associate Director of the Brady-Johnson Program in Grand Strategy at Yale University. He received his PhD in History from Princeton in 2011. He has published two books, “Shadow Cold War: The Sino-Soviet Competition for the Third World” (UNC Press, 2015) and “Ripe for Revolution: Building Socialism in the Third World” (Harvard University Press, 2022). He studies socialism, communism, and revolution in China, Russia, and the Global South.
