Minh D. Trinh is a political scientist studying the durable authoritarian regimes of East and Southeast Asia. He received his Ph.D. In Political Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2022, having specialized in comparative politics and political methodology. Dr. Trinh joined the Department of Government at the University of Texas in 2025 as an Assistant Professor of Government. Prior to Austin, Dr. Trinh served as the Raphael Morrison Dorman Memorial Postdoctoral Fellow at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs, Harvard University from 2022 to 2023, and then as Assistant Professor of Political Science at Purdue University from 2023 to 2025.
